Gale Ranch News

Caught being good this week … Nicole DeYong .. stop by the office to pick up your prize!

The problem is getting BIGGER .. PLEASE DO YOUR PART .. SLOW DOWN .. YIELD TO THOSE CROSSING THE STREET .. PAY ATTENTION .. KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE!!

Safety & Security on Campus : PLEASE READ AND HEED!! Our campus parking lot, drop off and pick up areas and the surrounding streets are becoming increasingly hazardous!! A child was struck this week by a car turning right as he was crossing in the crosswalk on Bollinger Canyon. A car was racing through our parking lot this afternoon and almost hit a student. Cars are stacking up and double parking at the exit awaiting students, causing traffic jams, and agitated drivers. PLEASE take your time, pay attention, follow directions, and abide by the laws and posted signs. Review with your children the importance of looking both ways before crossing, crossing ONLY at crosswalks, and watching for drivers who are not paying attention. Someone is going to be seriously hurt if this situation does not improve immediately. Thank you for caring about all of our children!!

Student Health History
The District asks you to complete a Student Health History Form for your child as they enter Kindergarten, sixth, and ninth grades or if your student is new to our District. As a student matures, we realize, health needs may change between these grade levels. Therefore, if your child’s health history has changed and needs to be updated, please contact our school office immediately so that their records will reflect your child’s most current information.
Thank you

School Loop
Almost all of our students now have a School Loop account. Schoolloop, the automated assignment, grading and communication system is up and running.  Parents, if you have not registered, please register yourself by going to www.grms.schoolloop.com and follow the directions to register as a parent.   You will need your student’s id number to complete the registration. For security reasons we cannot give out this number on the telephone or via email. Your student should have the number memorized, so please ask. If your student does not know the number, either he/she or you may come into the office to obtain it.
Note: All parent registration requests require verification and approval by the GRMS office staff. The approval process takes approximately 24 hours from your registration time. You will not be able to see grades until approved. The name and email address used to register must match the student’s records. Please check the day following your registration. If you are not yet approved, please call the office to determine the reason behind the delay.

A message from the library
I would like to thank all of you who have volunteered to work in our school library.  An interesting thing has happened this year with the introduction of Gryphons in Action (GIA).  We have so many students earning their volunteer hours in the library, that currently they are handling the work that has previously been done by our parent volunteers!   I am glad that the students are learning valuable work skills as they contribute to our school community.  What remains to be seen is how this influx of student volunteers will evolve, so it is possible that I will need to call for volunteers at some point in the year, and I hope that some of you will still be available.

We do have our book fair coming up during the last week of October and I know I will need many of you to work at the fair, so I will be contacting those of you who  indicated that you would like to help with that soon.  Thank you for all you do for us.
